We conducted Workshop #5 in our series on Saturday. The topic was Interview Questions and preparing for answering to those questions. We looked a variety of the traditional background questions as well as many behavioral questions. As a group, we discussed answers for the more difficult questions for our clients particularly those pertaining to previous employers and "gaps" in employment record. Jeff Heilson and Kareem George demonstrated some good and poor answers to the tough questions in a terrific role play (see the photo below left). On a sad note, we lost one of our clients to a relapse with alcohol. It serves as a reminder to all of us how difficult alcohol addiction is to deal with and how important our support for these men can be.

Next week, is Workshop #6 and graduation! Graduation will begin promptly at 6:00 pm and take place on the patio outside the Recreation Hall at the Salvation Army in Anaheim. During the 30 minute ceremony we will have the opportunity to recognize our clients who committed to the workshop series, and for some, the first thing they have completed from start to finish in some time. Also, we will have one more opportunity to build a sense of responsibility to themselves by showing them there are people who care about what happens to them in the future. Following the ceremony there will be cake and punch. Please plan on attending. Next weeks coaches are Laura Dietz, Reniero Francisco, John Goodlad, John Hedlund, Christina Holliday, and Syd Lucas.
